Ground with breath. Strength through movement. Peace in practice.

Chandler Lennon, Teacher

Chandler (he/him) is a yoga practitioner, registered yoga teacher, and lifelong student. I grew up an athlete and gymnast in southern VA and discovered yoga through the physical elements and benefits of āsana (posture) and stretching. Over 13 years, I explored traditional yoga philosophy and practices, its storied history, and significance across cultures and religions.

The simple revelation that āsana is posture for meditation — the inner experience rather than physical form — reshaped my entire perspective. My intention of my asana practice shifted and eventually led to a mindfulness and stillness that allowed me to focus inward on my antaranga (inner) yoga. It just made sense, felt right, and significantly improved my mental health.

The more I learned, Raja Yoga felt like a natural path to strive for a calm mind, purusha (self-realization), and ultimately, moksa (liberation).

While I explored my practice and deepened my understanding of yogic philosophies, I also held a decade-long career as a corporate public relations and sustainability communications leader and expert. My time in the international corporate world revealed the importance of prioritizing mental health and well-being. My time in the corporate world informs my approach to teaching, mindfulness, and mental well-being.

Teaching Style

I approach teaching the same way I approach my own practice by centering mindfulness, balance, stillness and awareness. My classes offer a unique blend of Hatha and Vinyasa styles that offer space to hold and explore poses longer (Hatha) as well as maintaining a breath to movement connection (Vinyasa). Rooted in Raja Yoga and Astanga, I approach asana and sequences as a vehicle to deeper prāṇāyāma (breathwork), dyana (meditation) and awareness of the antaranga (inner) yoga.

My classes are designed to be accessible to everybody and every body at all levels of experience in yoga.
